Las Vegas Crime & Housing Data — Press Kit

lvcrimedata.com publishes free, citable Las Vegas metro crime and housing statistics: the population-weighted crime rate across LVMPD-covered ZIP codes is 48.6 per 1,000 residents/year (LVMPD NIBRS, 2-year average), and home values (Zillow ZHVI) range from $258,336 in Laughlin's 89029 to $777,679 in Summerlin's 89138. This page is a quick-reference kit for reporters — story-ready numbers, citation format, and reuse terms. No request form, no embargo, no paywall.

Who we are

lvcrimedata.com is a free, public-data explorer built and maintained by AXIA Enterprises. We are not a real estate brokerage, we don't sell leads, and there's no paywall anywhere on the site — every table, chart, ZIP page, and CSV export is free to use, including on deadline. The underlying dataset combines LVMPD crime reporting, Census income and population figures, HUD rent benchmarks, and Zillow home-value indices into one ZIP-code-level view of the Las Vegas metro.

Story-ready numbers

Every figure below traces directly to this site's published dataset — nothing here is estimated or modeled. Full context, methodology, and per-ZIP breakdowns live on the linked pages.

  1. Metro crime baseline: 48.6 per 1,000 residents/year — the population-weighted average across the 49 Clark County ZIP codes with usable LVMPD NIBRS crime data (2-year annual average).
  2. Cheapest home value: $258,336 — ZIP 89029 in Laughlin, the lowest Zillow ZHVI in the metro.
  3. Priciest home value: $777,679 — ZIP 89138 in Summerlin, the highest Zillow ZHVI in the metro, a $519,343 spread from the cheapest ZIP.
  4. Safest-to-highest-crime spread: 18.5× — 89179 in Enterprise, the safest ZIP that clears this site's population floor, reports 7.2 crimes per 1,000 residents/year; 89101 in Downtown Las Vegas reports 132.9/1K, the highest among qualifying ZIPs.
  5. Resort-corridor distortion: 6,924 residents, 1,320.2/1K raw rate — ZIP 89109, home to most of the Strip, has a tiny resident population next to enormous tourist and casino-corridor incident volume, so its unfiltered per-resident crime rate is a statistical artifact, not a literal safety read. Always caveat this ZIP; never cite it as a plain safety ranking.
  6. Safety carries a price premium: 49% higher — median home value across the 10 safest qualifying ZIP codes is $495,087, versus $332,555 across the 10 highest-crime qualifying ZIP codes ($162,532 more).
  7. 66 Clark County ZIP codes tracked in the Las Vegas metro (out of 133 statewide in the full Nevada dataset), spanning Henderson, Summerlin, the Strip, Downtown, and every incorporated city and unincorporated township in the valley.
  8. 17 of those 66 ZIP codes have zero usable LVMPD crime data — every ZIP code in Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, and Mesquite, because those cities run their own police departments outside LVMPD's NIBRS reporting.
Story angle — why city crime maps mislead Henderson buyers: Most "Las Vegas crime map" tools quietly source only LVMPD data and either omit Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, and Mesquite entirely or, worse, blend in a handful of incidental LVMPD reports that make those cities look artificially safe. All 17 of their ZIP codes are policed by their own departments, not LVMPD, so an LVMPD-only map has literally no crime signal for a third of Henderson's population and every North Las Vegas resident. This site shows those 17 ZIP codes with an explicit "No LVMPD data" label rather than a fabricated or misleadingly low number — see the coverage note on the ZIP code map for the full list. It's a clean angle for a story on how automated real-estate crime overlays get incorporated cities wrong.

How to cite this data

Las Vegas Housing & Crime Explorer, lvcrimedata.com, 2026 — underlying data: LVMPD NIBRS, Census ACS 2023, Zillow ZHVI.

Use that line (or a close paraphrase) any time you cite a figure from this site in an article, chyron, or on-air graphic. If you're citing a specific ranked list or ZIP breakdown, link to the specific page — e.g. lvcrimedata.com/safest-las-vegas-zip-codes/ — rather than just the homepage, so readers can verify the exact figure.

What you may reuse

Tables, charts, and screenshots from any page on this site are free to reuse in an article, newsletter, or broadcast segment, provided you link back to the specific page the figure came from. No fee, no request form, no advance approval needed.

For a live version instead of a static screenshot, embed the free, interactive crime & home-value map widget directly in your story — see /embed/ for the iframe code. It's free for editorial use with no API key and no usage cap; the one condition is that the attribution link back to lvcrimedata.com stays visible next to the embedded map.
